Former Deputy Accused of Killing His Parents
BOONE COUNTY, KY (Jeff Hirsh) -- Jurors hear more testimony in the trial of a former Sheriff's Deputy accused of killing his parents.
Warren and Madge Moor were shot to death in their Union home in 2009.
Wednesday, the jury heard from some of those close to their son Michael Moore, who faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted.
When this trial started a couple of weeks ago, Moores defense presented a new theory, self-defense. They said that Moores father shot and killed his mother , then Moore and his dad wrestled with the gun, Moore was wounded and he shot and killed his father.
But that's not what Moore told his girlfriend at the time of the incident.
Sheri Kennada testified that Moore stuck to one story and one story alone and it was nothing at all like self-defense.
Michael Moore's sister-in-law testified about a phone conversation she had with Moore shortly after the shooting. She asked Moore if his parents suffered and he said no.
She also told the jury that Moore told her he was hiding downstairs when he heard two gunshots.
