Funeral for UC Student Killed in Crash

HAMILTON, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- Family, friends and teammates came together today for the funeral of Ben Flick.

The UC football player was one of two people killed in a weekend crash in Hanover Township.  Angela Ingram brings with more on the final farewell.

Angela spoke with Ben Flick's Aunt last night at his viewing.  She said the family is holding up as well as can be expected.

Friends also describe Ben as an outgoing young man who had a bond with his fellow athletes.

Mourners filed into Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Millville Ave in Hamilton.

Members of the UC football team and staff also attended.  Ben played football at Hamilton High School as well.

Tuesday night hundreds filled the athletic center at the high school for a memorial honoring Ben.

A team member who survived the crash, Javon Harrison, was visibly shaken.  Pictures and a video remembering Ben played as a Chaplin provided words of comfort to the crowd.  The high school has had counselors and psychologists available for students and staff since the crash.

Miami student Sean Vandyne was also on the minds of mourners.  Tuesday morning Vandyne died as a result of his injuries from the crash.

Another UC player, Mark Barr, was seriously injured in that crash.  Barr remains in critical condition at UC Medical Center.
