Moeller Beats St. Xavier in Overtime

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Two major high school football rivals in the Cincinnati area met up Friday night and offered a very exciting game.

Moeller and St. X faced off at the University of Cincinnati's Nippert Stadium.  Moeller's starting quarterback Gus Ragland was out due to a concussion so Matt Crable, son of coach Bob Crable, was running the show and looking to avenge last year's Bomber 49-21 win.

St. X scored first when Crable was picked off by St. X's David Leisring leading to a St. X field goal.

The score went back and forth all night. And heading into the end of the 4th quarter, St. X was leading 17-14. That's when the Crusaders' Matt Coughlin would tie the game with a 30 yard field goal with only 1 second remaining, sending the game into overtime.

In the extra frame, Moeller stopped St. Xavier on 4th and goal. That's when Matt Coughlin got another field goal from the 35-yard line. Final score was 20-17.

Moeller remains undefeated for the season. St. X is now 3-2.
