Haunted House Raises Money for Charity

COVINGTON, Ky. (Angela Ingram) -- The crew and volunteers have been here since July working hard to build the attraction and putting together a variety of scary elements to make sure when you visit this haunted house, you're sure to scream.

Ryan Thierauf applies make-up to his characters with precision.  36 actors volunteer their time to scream acres court.

There's four different themes.  You can get buried alive which is the first part and then there's the castle hill funeral home.  The fun house, and black out which is pitch black>

Thierauf is 18.  He first organized the haunt for 10 years ago.  It started in his parents' garage in Bridgetown.

Scream Acres has expanded to a 20,000 square foot building.  Most of the actors are students at the school for Creative and Performing Arts.

Each year the crew works to make the haunt bigger and scarier with elements like 3d rooms and killer clowns.

A portion of the money raised always goes to charity.
