Father and Son Killed in Unsolved Double Murder

WALNUT HILLS, Ohio (WKRC) -- Three years ago today, a 14-year-old and his father were gunned down on a local street.

That murder remains unsolved.

Wednesday night family and friends gathered in Walnut Hills to remember the lives of Ja'renta and James Reed.  Police found their bodies inside an SUV on Rammelsberg Avenue in 2010.

Dectives say they believe robbery was the motive behind the murders.  No arrests have been made.

Ja'renta's mother said, "If the parents know your child murdered someone, you should speak up.  Because you can probably see you child again.  But we can't see my son, or his father again, or his brother again."

James Reed's brother, Henry Reed said, "You could say you hear about it all the time, but you don't really think about it until it hits you at home, like it hits us at home.  I guess you could say someone would do such a thing.  I guess you don't realize that when you take a life, you take away everything someone has and everything they're going to have."

There were people there when the two were murdered but, so far no one has come forward with information that could solve the case.

If you know anything, call Crime Stoppers.  That number is 352-3040.
