Cueto tapped to start Tuesday's Wild Card game at Pittsburgh

CINCINNATI (WKRC)-- After Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Reds announcing that Johnny Cueto will be the starting pitcher in Tuesday's one-game Wild Card contest. Pittsburgh secured the right to host that contest today with their victory.

Cueto has been limited to just 11 starts this season, thanks to three separate trips to the disabled list this year with a right shoulder injury. Cueto's career numbers against Pittsburgh are impressive. In 21 starts, Cueto is 13-4 with a 2.37 ERA against Pittsburgh. Lifetime, the Reds righty has struck out 121 Pirates, the only team he has recorded triple-digit strikeouts against in his career.

Earlier Saturday, Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle announcing that Franscisco Liriano will get the start for the Pirates on Tuesday. It is Pittsburgh's first postseason appearance since 1992.
