House Votes to Defund Health Care Law

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKRC) -- The House of Representatives passes a budget bill that prevents a government shutdown but it cuts funding for President Obama's healthcare law.

As expected the GOP controlled House voted in favor of the controversial spending bill.

The measure funds government services for three months but takes away money to pay for the new health care law.  After the vote, Republicans celebrated at a rally but it may be short- lived.

Senate Democrats plan to remove the changes to the health care reform law when they take up the budget bill.

President Obama fires back at Congress during a road trip.  The President visited a Ford plant in Missouri Friday afternoon.  He railed against attempts by what he called a faction of the far right to undermine his health care law.

He says failure to raise the debt ceiling would send the economy into a tailspin, and he accuses House Republicans of abandoning the middle class.
