Armed Robberies Up in Community
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Adam Clements) -- Police say a robbery in Springfield Township is connected to a similar robbery in Clifton.
The Clifton International Market was robbed by two men with guns on September 13th.
Investigators say the same two men held up the Shamrock gas station on Hamilton avenue on the same night.
Several armed robberies in the area have business owners like Amet Mehta concerned.
"Its bad for business, says Mehta. People get scared when they hear this place has been robbed. These stores around here have been here for a long time. People go to those places every day, and they don't want to go to places where there's trouble."
Jaye Raymond is in the same boat. She runs a tattoo parlor two doors down from a Chinese restaurant that two men tried to rob last week.
"What we do is just leave earlier, and I have just recently, unfortunately renewed my conceal carry license, just so I have something to protect me., Says Raymond.
In the past two weeks, a Pizza Hut, a Payless Shoesource, and a Family Video have all been robbed.
Police aren't sure if the same two men are responsible for all of them, but say they do see similarities.
Raymond has been in contact with other local business owners, and hopes they can all work together to put an end to the crime, saying, "If the robbers all know we all know and we're looking out, they're more likely to stay away."
