Massive Boardwalk Fire Ruled Accidental
SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ (WKRC) -- A devastating fire on the New Jersey boardwalk destroyed more than two dozen businesses.
Last week's massive boardwalk fire on the Jersey Shore was accidental. That's according to a report released Tuesday.
It says the fire that started in a frozen custard stand in Seaside Park was caused by an electrical problem.
The fast-moving blaze destroyed 50 businesses. A brand new section of the boardwalk put in place after hurricane Sandy was intentionally ripped away to stop the fire in its tracks.
No one was seriously injured in the fire. Plans to make repairs are underway.
