Weight Impacts Pregnancy Risks

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Being underweight or overweight could increase a pregnant woman's risk for complications.

Researchers in Scotland looked at the medical records of about 110 thousand pregnant women.

They found women with a high body mass index, or BMI, are more likely to have high blood pressure and diabetes.

Overweight and obese women are so more at risk for being admitted to the hospital after birth, as are underweight women.
