Clifton Market Robbery
CLIFTON (Angela Ingram) -- A man with a gun fires shots after trying to rob a terrified convenience store clerk. The hold-up happened at Clifton International Market on Jefferson Avenue near the University of Cincinnati.
Police are hoping someone recognizes the men, or at least the distinctive clothing they're wearing.
Last Friday night, shortly after 11, the clerk was caught off guard when a man wearing a mask came in with a hood pulled over his head.
The hoodie is two-toned gray with a light gray strip in the middle and thin orange stripes down the sleeves.
His partner came in behind him wearing the white or the light grey hoodie over the sweat pants, obviously displaying the handgun.
Police say the crime is unusual for the area, We don't have very many of these store robberies. We do get the occasional street robberies that we look at, but the store robberies are kind of an anomaly up there.
In the video it's clear the two men want cash but staring down the barrel of a gun, the clerk appears to have problems opening the cash register.
Then one of the men assaults the 5'1'', 125 pound woman.
And then right before he leaves you can see he punches her and our individual with the gun fires the two shots into the ceiling.
Police are grateful the men didn't shoot the clerk but say clearly they are still dangerous.
I think the clothing description is distinctive enough that someone could take a look at them and identify these individuals. We need that lead. If we can get that lead, we're going to put these people in jail where they need to be.
