Brother of Man Accused of Shooting Parents Testifies

BOONE COUNTY, Ky (WKRC) -- Family members take the witness stand in the trial of a former Warren County Sheriff's Deputy accused of killing his parents.

Tuesday, jurors in Boone County heard from Warren Smith Moore, Michael Moore's brother.

Michael Moore is accused of shooting his parents, Warren and Madge Moore in their home in Union in 2009.

Moore's brother lives in South Carolina and he told the jury about the night he learned his parents had been shot to death.

He also testified about a phone conversation he had with his younger brother, right after the killings.

"I said hello...probably something along the lines of are you okay...and I said, 'Mike what happened?'  And he said, 'I don't know.'"

Michael Moore originally told investigators that an intruder had shot both him and his parents.  He now claims Warren Moore shot Madge Moore and then shot him during a struggle for the gun.

Moore says he shot his father in self defense.
