Man Killed in Indiana Police Shooting Identified

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) - Authorities have identified the person fatally shot this week by a suburban Indianapolis police officer as a 27-year-old Lafayette man.

Plainfield police say officers responding to a home invasion call Tuesday night encountered Eric Poore in a doorway of the house and that he was shot after raising a gun toward an officer.

Another suspected burglar was taken into custody without incident at the house in a neighborhood of the town just west of Indianapolis. That man faces felony charges of robbery and criminal confinement.

The police officers and the three adults who were inside the house were not injured.
