Allegiant Air Comes to Tri-State Airport

HEBRON, Ky (WKRC) -- Low-cost carrier Allegiant Airlines officially announced plans today to begin service from the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Travelers can find non-stop flights from Cincinnati to Orlando and Punta Gorda, Florida starting in mid-February 2014. There will be two flights a week to each destination.

One way Allegiant holds fares down is to go to secondary airports. The Orlando flights actually go to Sanford, Florida which is a nearby community. Punta Gorda is the secondary airport for Fort Myers.

Allegiant also charges add-on fees for just about everything, from carry-on baggage to a bottle of water.  However, the base fares can be a lot lower than what main line carriers like Delta will charge.
