Two Arrested for Attempted Robbery at Fairfield Park

FAIRFIELD, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police arrest two teens suspected of armed robbery, as part of a call that came in as a gunman in a park.

Harbin Park was shut down at 5:30 Thursday night, after people in the park saw a man with a shotgun.

Police say 19-year-old Alex Simmons and 18-year-old Stephen Kerr used the shotgun to try to rob someone in the park.

When the victim wouldn't comply with the demands, police say the two ran into the woods.

Police searched the park and surrounding neighborhoods. They say they arrested Simmons and Kerr on Congress Hill Drive about three and a half hours later.

Simmons in charged with aggravated robbery. Kerr is charged with complicity to aggravated robbery.
