Young Mom Dies in Crash with School Bus
KENTON COUNTY, Ohio (Tiffany Wilson) -- A crash involving a Kenton County school bus and two other vehicles leaves a young mother dead.
No one on the school bus was injured. This happened on Kentucky-17 near Dudley around seven Thursday morning. Local 12's Tiffany Wilson spoke to the victim's family and shares their heartbreak.
A sickening scene for any parent as flashing lights surround an accident involving a school bus. No Kenton County students were injured. However a mother of four died at the scene.
Family members say the 25-year-old driver, Kathleen Reinzan, was leaving 3rd shift at the Waffle House when she pulled out onto KY-17. She got hit by a bus and they told Local 12 News she died on impact.
You can see the twisted steel of Reinzan's car, out of sensitivity, deputies partially covered it with a sheet. Everyone's in shock, they can't believe it.
Reinzan started working at Waffle House when it opened two days ago. Her mom told Tiffany Wilson Kathleen was thrilled and asked family and friends to visit her. Now it's too late.
Kathleen's children ages nine, three, two and six months must grow up without her.
Police spent hours reconstructing the accident scene, a task becoming more familiar along this stretch of road.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash. That driver was not injured.
