Fairfield Man Wanted for Girlfriend's Murder Surrenders

New information: Nicholas Delaney turned himself in at the Fairfield Police Department for the murder of his ex-girlfriend. Delaney is charged with the murder of Samantha Decker. A friend with Decker says Delaney was waiting in her Fairfield home and shot her. Delaney will be in court Tuesday.

Police found Nicholas Delaney's 1996 bright yellow Mustang at Van Kirk and 73rd Street in Carthage.


FAIRFIELD, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police are searching for a man wanted for the shooting death of his former girlfriend in an all-out manhunt.

Officers were called out to Wildwood Drive at 3 a.m. Thursday morning for a shooting at the Villages of Wildwood.  24-year-old Samantha Decker had been shot multiple times. She died at the scene. Police believe 28-year-old Nicholas Delaney is the gunman.

A man Decker was with told 911 that the pair returned to her home to find Delaney waiting for them. The other man was not hit.

Delaney and Decker had a child together. The child was at Decker's parents home, in the same condo complex. Police say they have not had any previous calls to Decker's home.

Police say Delaney is driving a bright yellow 1996 Mustang. It has an Ohio license plate number of EUN 7699. Police consider him armed and dangerous.
