Report Says Crash Victim Failed to Yield

MASON, Ohio (WKRC) -- A local high school student is being remembered by family and friends on the same day police release a report about the crash in which she died.

In that report Mason Police say Jordan Hoak failed to yield, and was struck by another car on the driver's side.  Hoak was a junior at Ursuline Academy.  the 16 year old died Tuesday afternoon from injuries she suffered in the crash last Friday.

It happened on Western Row at Lexington Park.

The report says Hoak was only traveling about 4 miles an hour when she was struck by the other vehicle going about 44 miles an hour.  The posted speed limit is 35, so that driver was cited for speeding and not wearing a seat belt.

Students and teachers are gathering at this hour for the visitation of Jordan Hoak.  The visitation continues at Ursuline Academy in Blue Ash until 8 o'clock Friday night.  A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 Saturday morning at Saint Susanna Church in Mason.
