OXFORD, Ohio (WKRC) -- The Miami University community is mourning the loss of one of its own.

On Saturday, October 26th around 9a.m. police were called to identify a body found dead on local railroad tracks.  Officers found the male on the tracks east of the intersection of South College and Foxfire Drive in Oxford.  It was determined he was an undergrad student at Miami University.

On Monday the Oxford Police Department said in a press release the deceased student's name is Jacob S. Jarman.  He was a 19-year-old sophomore from Greenwood Village, Colorado.

He transferred to Miami University after his freshman year and resided in Hahne Hall.

Oxford Police were present at the autopsy Monday morning and are awaiting the toxicology report that could take weeks.

Miami University President, David Hodge, released a statement saying, "We mourn the tragic death of a Miami student this weekend.  Our hearts go out to the family in their grief."
