Group Calls to Stop Investigation on Juvenile Court Judge

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- The President of a local civil rights group calls for Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters to stop his investigation into juvenile court judge Tracie Hunter.

Bishop Bobby Hilton, head of the Cincinnati chapter of the National Action Network, has filed a complaint with the Ohio State Supreme Court.

Hunter has a sizable case back-log.  Deters suggested someone in Hunter's court may have backdated documents to make them appear they were filed in a more timely fashion.  A special prosecutor is handling that investigation.

Bishop Hilton claims Deters does not have just cause for launching the investigation.  Hilton also says the prosecutor never should have seized files on open cases over concerns of compromised integrity which has an impact on the children and families involved in those cases.

The Cincinnati chapter of the National Action Network wants the Supreme Court to stop the investigation.

Joe Deters is not commenting on this action.
