Owner of Emaciated Dog Charged

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) -- A Middletown man is charged with animal cruelty after the Butler County Deputy Dog Warden found an abandoned, emaciated dog.

The dog warden was called to Navaho Street to investigate the abandoned dog. The white pit bull, named Dee, was in obvious distress. The dog was taken to the Butler County Animal Friends Humane Society.

A detective tracked down Bert Brashear, through his family members and witnesses. In addition to animal cruelty, Brashear is charged with failing to license the dog.

Brashear signed Dee over to the Humane Society, which is rehabilitating the dog.
