Car Stolen With Child Inside

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Cincinnati Police have arrested a woman for stealing a car with a child in the backseat.

Police were called to Tina's Carry Out at 1600 Walnut Street around 12:45pm Saturday afternoon for a report of a stolen car.

A 9-year-old boy was in the backseat. The suspect dropped the boy of at 8th and Vine Streets where he was found unharmed.

The boy told police the driver was a woman in a yellow hoodie that was smoking when she stole the car.

Police then spotted the car in Mt Auburn and began a short chase until the driver crashed while driving the wrong way on McMillan Avenue near Dover Street. The suspect hit 2 other vehicles at the time of the crash.

Two people were taken to UCMC for injuries - one of the transported was the suspect.

The suspect was later identified as 26 year-old Tamara Walker. She has been charged with abduction, theft and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police office. She was at the Hamilton County Justice Center late Saturday night and is expected to be arraigned on the charges Monday morning.
