Boy Hit by Metro Bus

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A boy is in the hospital after he is hit by a Metro bus. The bus hit the boy, who is about five or six years old, near the intersection of Winneste and Craft just before 7:30 Tuesday morning.

It appears the boy darted out from behind a car to chase his sister across the street. Witnesses say they heard tires screech right before the crash.

When they realized what happened, some immediately went in search of the boy's family. "I was terrified at that point because I love kids, I have a 5-year-old myself. So I was really terrified. His mom was nowhere to be found, eventually somebody did find her".

The boy passed out after the crash and emergency crews took him to Children's Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Police did not cite the bus driver. The crash closed Winneste Avenue for a short time, but the road has reopened.
