Police Re-Arrest Man Awaiting Jail Time

WEST END, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- Police arrested Amiko Landrum after he bailed from a car during a traffic stop in the West End.

Officers say Landrum thew a handgun while running from them.

"We had conducted a drug investigation in the area of Poplar and Lynn. Safe streets officers initiated a traffic stop," said Sgt. Ryan Hudson

While officers were arresting Landrum near Stanley Rowe Apartments, the 26-year-old was already making plans to to put up bond and get out of jail.

Landrum said to his friend as he was being arrested, "Tell her to come bond me out man. You heard me?"

Just last week Landrum was sentenced to nine months behind bars for trafficking in cocaine.  A judge let him go and ordered him to come back and start serving his sentence on November 14.

Police say they often rearrest criminals who are out and told to report back for their sentences.  Now Landrum is facing even more felony charges.

Sgt. Hudson says, "It's something we run into quite frequently and nothing against the judge because I'm not really familiar with the case he was sentenced on, but nine months to these guys sometimes is not a big deal especially if they've been doing it as long as he's been doing it."

Police say this is Landrum's seventh felony arrest.  He will be arraigned Friday morning.
