Meth Lab Causes Explosion at Sycamore Township Condo

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man wanted in connection with an explosion believed to be caused by a meth lab.

The explosion blew out a window at the condo on Chaucer Drive and knocked off some siding just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

Two people were home at the time, the condo owner and her 58-year-old son. The son took off after the explosion. No one at the scene was hurt.

Deputies and firefighters say they found materials inside the condo used to make meth. The Regional Narcotics Unit was called it to stabilize the materials They'll take them to the coroner's office for analysis.

Officials don't believe the other condos in the building are in danger from hazardous materials. They did have the condo owner stay somewhere else until they can determine if her home is safe.

So far, there have been no arrests.
