Hamilton Standoff Ends with Man in Custody

HAMILTON (WKRC) - A SWAT situation went on for over two hours Saturday night in Hamilton. Officers were called to Kahn Avenue between Lincoln and Cornell about 7 p.m. for a report of a suicidal person. When officers attempted to enter the residence to check on the welfare of a person, they were met by an adult male armed with a crossbow.

Hamilton Police say the suspect lifted the crossbow toward the officers several times and threatened to kill any officer who came in the house.

There was another family member in the home who had locked herself upstairs, according to police. The Hamilton Fire Department was able to get her out of the home safely.

The Hamilton/Fairfield SWAT team responded to the scene, secured the home, and negotiated with the suspect.

At about 9:30 p.m., the suspect came out of the home and gave himself up.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hamilton Police Department.
