Good Samaritan Assaulted in Butler County

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- A good samaritan, who stopped to help a couple with their disabled minivan, was assaulted.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office says Damon Wyatt saw the minivan on the side of Augspurger Road late Friday night. The couple indicated they needed a jump and they had cables. After Wyatt parked his car, a third person came up behind him and tried to choke him. At the same time, the other other man hit him in the face, knocking him unconscious.

When Wyatt woke up, he could tell someone had gone through his vehicle but he had hidden his wallet, so nothing was missing. He drove himself to the hospital.

The couple are both believed to be in their 20s and white. The man had short facial hair. He was wearing a dark jacket and camouflage hat. The woman had shoulder-length, dark, curly hair. Wyatt could only tell that the man who tried to choke him was white.

Anyone with information should call the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center at 785-1300. Sheriff Jones suggests calling law enforcement if you see someone stranded on the side of the road.
