Saks Announces Move to Kenwood Collection

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Saks Fifth Avenue will leave downtown Cincinnati for the Kenwood Collection. That's according to the Business Courier.

Developer Phillips Edison announced it has signed a letter of intent from Saks to lease about 80,000 square feet of space at the development along I-71.

Work on Kenwood Collection, formerly called Kenwood Towne Place, was stalled for years over lawsuits. Criminal charges followed. Kenwood Collection is expected to be complete in 2015. It will be a mix of office, retail and restaurant space.

Saks' move from downtown, is a blow to the city. It was working to create a retail corridor along Race Street.

The new Saks location is scheduled to open in spring of 2016.
