Items Found in ORT Raid Surprise Cops

Cincinnati Police have a strategy that is about data driven policing. They had some troubling data surrounded a vine street barber shop so officers went inside Monday.

Police found more than they were looking for including a new illegal drug,

Cincinnati Police are not just targeting people who cause trouble but places where troublemakers hang out. The barber shop was in the middle of where bad things have been happening.
The raid was about taking out a place police think breeds violence. However when cops were inside they found something that surprised them. Something that they did not expect to find.

Evidence the shop is about more than people hanging out, evidence business is about more than cutting hair. Police found a drug scale right next to the register along with almost an ounce of uncut heroin, pot and 50 pills of a new drug called Mollies.

Mollies are party drugs that can come in a powder form or in a capsule form. The drug is promoted as pure ecstasy. Authorities however say the user tends to get more than what is advertised.

The pills can sometimes be laced with other drugs. Drugs such as heroin or cocaine or substances such as caffeine. With molly you never really know what you're getting.

In Seattle earlier in July, one man died and dozens of other people were treated after overdosing on mollies at a weekend music festival.

The Mollies seized in the raid are currently being analyzed at the coroner's lab.

As of now there are no known arrests but Local 12 will continue to follow this story and bring you more information.
