Explosions Rock Propane Company in Florida
At least seven people are injured after explosions rock a propane company near Orlando, Florida.
Officials report that three people are in critical condition at area hospitals.
The explosions began around 10:30 p.m. at the Blue Rhino Propane Facility. The company exchanges and cleans propane tanks.
At least two dozen employees were in the building at the time of the blast. Officials said there were more than 53,000 propane tanks at the facility, and some of the 20 pound canisters started exploding during the blast.
"We started seeing those grill tanks and gas tanks flying up in the air," said John Bodgen, an evacuee. "And it literally, it had to be at least 200, or 300 feet up in the air."
Officers at first evacuated all of the homes within a one mile radius, but a few hours later, police reported that everyone in the area was safe.
"The booms were just knocking on the doors, and knocking on the windows, and shaking everything in the house," said Cody Rhodes, a neighbor.
The cause of the blast has not yet been determined.
