U Square Opens Near UC Campus
CINCINNATI, Ohio (WKRC-TV) A business development, years in the making, near the campus of the University of Cincinnati is finally finished.
Today, co-developers Towne Properties and Al Neyer will celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Years of planning have been put in to the development of U Square @ the Loop, a 78 million dollar mixed use project in University Heights.
The project sits on just over four acres of land between Calhoun and McMillan streets. It is made up of 80,000 square-feet of restaurant/retail space, 40,000 square-feet of office space, 161 apartments, and a community green.
There is also space reserved for a future hotel. The development is the largest local project besides The Banks to break ground since the recession. Construction took about 20 months.
Cincinnati Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls will be at the ribbon cutting ceremony along with UC President Santa Ono. The ceremony starts at noon.
