Covington Finance Director Accused Of Theft

A Covington official is accused of misappropriation of funds.

An investigation shows alleged inappropriate activity involving more than $300,000 by Finance Director Bob Due, dating back to 2010.

Most checks that he allegedly took were in the range of eight to ten thousand dollars.

City officials say the money was discovered missing late Thursday.

Due was booked into the Kenton County Jail Friday.

His charges include Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $10,000, Unlawful Access to a Computer, Official Misconduct and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument.

He's scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Monday monring.
