Car Into a Home and Shooting Linked?

Springfield Township Police and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department responded to two calls Friday just one mile apart.

It all happened around 8:55p.m., that is when Springfield Township Police were called out to the area near the intersection of Meredith Drive and Tanbark Court for a car that ran into a house.

When police and fire arrived on the scene they found a Mitsubishi Eclipse that had crashed into a home on Tanbark Court. Whitnesses in the area say that after the crash some people in the car got out and ran away from the area.

A juvenile that was in the car was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with minor injuries.

Around the same time of the crash and just a mile away on Clovernook Avenue, Sheriffs Deputies were called out for a shooting.

There deputies found an 18-year-old who had been shot in the ribs. His name and condition have not been released.

Now the Sheriffs Department told Local 12 News that it does appear that these two situations are related.

If you have any information that can help investigators you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.

Local 12 News will continue to follow these two situations and bring you any new information as soon as it becomes available.
