Verdict In Teen Beating Case
A jury has found Precious Allen guilty of assault and not guilty of trespassing. She has been sentenced to 180 days of probation.
Jury deliberations have begun in the case of a Cincinnati woman charged with attacking a student in a Withrow High School classroom earlier this year. 31-year old Precious Allen is charged with aggravated trespassing and assault.
In February, Allen allegedly got into the school when someone held open a door, then allegedly bypassed the office and went to a fourth floor classroom, and began attacking a student. Allen was allegedly helped in the assault by her own daughter.
Assistant Hamilton County Prosecutor Eric Cook told the jury this parent acted like a child and confronted a child one half her age.
Allen claims the other student had been bullying her daughter. Allen told jurors she simply went to Withrow to withdraw her daughter, and the other girl came over to me and was yelling and screaming. I just asked her to calm down and well get the principal your mom.
Defense attorney Eric Deters said even if you believe she shouldnt have been in the classroom, they still should have proved that she went up there to hit somebody. Theres no proof intending to hurt. They cant do that.
The jury, in Judge Melissa Powers courtroom, began deliberations around one pm.
