Gun Dealer Accused of Selling Firearms to Convicted Felons
A local gun dealer is set to be sentenced on federal firearms violations.
Todd Brooks was accused of selling firearms to convicted felons. Local 12 news reporter Larry Davis reports.
Todd Brooks is scheduled to go before a judge Tuesday morning.
Earlier this year, he was nowhere to be found after federal agents filed charges against him.
Todd Brooks pleaded guilty a few months ago to federal charges.
Back in april, Brooks was a no show at his florence gun shop, Freedom Fighters Incorporated. It was a store he ran out of a basement which he referred to as his "bunker."
Customers were concerned when he didn't show up for work for a couple of weeks. The store was locked up by federal agents after they charged him with firearms violations.
The federal indictment charged Brooks and an employee, Derrick Jason Kerfoot, with knowingly selling handguns to convicted felons.
Brooks could face prison time as well as the loss of his license to sell guns when sentenced this morning.
