As kids are going back to school and heading off to college, parents and students are looking for ways to save on the back to school costs. But beware, there are those out there who want to take advantage of you by offering you false promises that could end up costing you money.
That is why Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine is warning parents and students to be on the lookout for back-to-school scams.
Dewine says there have been many reports of phony grants. A typical scam involves a caller saying that you have won government money and then asks for money to receive the grant.
Dewine says any time a group is asking for money for a grant, scholarship or job it's probably a scam.
