Driver Hit After Bailing From Police Chase

A traffic stop in Sycamore Township leads to a police chase and the suspect hit by a deputy's cruiser.

The Sheriff's Office says a deputy tried to pull over a car driven by Cordell Reynolds last night on Reading Road. The car didn't stop.

The deputy chased the car into Bond Hill. It ended when they say Reynolds stopped the car suddenly, and tried to run off.

Deputies say a gun fell from his waistband. As he tried to pick it up, Reynolds was hit by a cruiser, which was trying to avoid hitting his car.

Reynolds was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.

He's charged with failure to comply and obstructing, as well as gun and drug charges.
