Winners of Oldest Fridge Contest Announced

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WKRC) -- Cincinnatians tie for the prize in Duke Energy's oldest fridge contest.

The contest was part of a campaign to get out dated and energy draining appliances off the power grid.

Patricia Mcmillan of Cleves turned in a 1937 Westinghouse with a box freezer inside.  She says she got it when she got married in 1946.

The other winner is Thomas Kihm of Green Township.  He turned in a 1937 GE model with the small box freezer on top.

Each receives 250 dollars.

If you have an older appliance you want to recycle, Duke customers can call 1-855-398-6200 or go to Duke's website.
