Five People Escape Burning Middletown Home

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC-TV) Five people were able to escape a burning house in Midddletown.

The flames broke out around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon on Crescent Blvd.

When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. One of the residents were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

A fire chief tells Local 12 that breaking glass alerted someone in the home that the house was on fire.

The home is a total loss with more than $50,000 worth of damage. A candle-burning to close to a couch is the likely cause.
