Two Arrested for Rare Furniture Theft
EVENDALE, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police arrest two men accused of stealing some very rare and valuable furniture from a local business.
Two chairs and a bench worth 73,000 dollars disappeared from Formica's Evendale office over the summer. The century old company is known for its plastic laminate counter tops and cabinets.
The pieces were originally commissioned for a local arts center. They were on display in a private part of the office.
Police say one of the chairs was destroyed.
Two Springfield Township men, Dustin Buckner and Edward Smith IV, pleaded not guilty to theft charges in the case. His attorney says Buckner was a security guard at Formica.
