Update on Middle School Shooting

SPARKS, Nev. (WKRC) -- A shooting at a Nevada middle school leaves two people dead and two others injured.

A student is believed to be the gunman in a shooting at a middle school in Sparks, Nevada just east of Reno.  A staff member who was trying to protect other children is among those who died.  The shots were heard around 7:15 Monday morning.

Two students suffered gunshot wounds, both had surgery and are expected to survive.  One is in serious condition and the other is fair.

More than 200 emergency responders surrounded the school when the call was first received.  The other person who is dead is believed to be the shooter.

Administrators at Sparks Middle School have cancelled classes for the rest of the week.
