Money Stolen from Code Loaned to FOP President
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A judge orders the head of Cincinnati's Police Union to pay thousands of dollars to another city union because of a loan that involved stolen money.
The ruling orders Kathy Harrell to pay 24,300-dollars to Code, which is the city's middle managers' union.
Local 12 first told you about this legal battle last year. The former head of Code, Diana Frey, pleaded guilty to stealing money from union accounts.
Police say Frey used some of the stolen money to loan 12,000 dollars to Harrell but at the time Harrell did not know the money was stolen.
Court documents indicate Harrell has since paid back nearly 4,000 dollars but still owes 8,100.
The judge's ruling orders Harrell to pay triple damages.
