Mayoral Candidates Prepare for Election Day

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Campaign 2013 is coming  down the homestretch. Election day is Tuesday and Cincinnati voters will chose a new Mayor.

The two front runners are Roxanne Qualls and John Cranley.

They talk about the issues a final time before election day on Local 12 Newsmakers.

On the campaign trail, the issues that have gotten the most attention are the streetcar and the decision to lease the city's parking facilities.

"I mean my opponent says you can't get out of the parking deal or the streercar because it would be expensive. That's like saying hey listen, we're wasting a lot of money and so because we wasted a lot of money, you're stuck with our bad decisions and I think the voters are annoyed by that. I think it's been disrespectful to the taxpayer all along and all year and I think you don't reward whose made such reckless decisions," said Cranley.

"I would argue these are not reckless decisions that these are critical economic development decisions and critical economic development investments, that actually underpin the continued growth of the city when it comes to attracting businesses, growing jobs and attracting residents," said Qualls.

You can see the entire interview with John Cranley and Roxanne Qualls on Newsmakers with Dan Hurley, Sunday morning at six on Local 12 or at 10:30 on 12. 2 The CW Cincinnati
