Couple Who Try To Return Adopted Son Charged

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- A couple in trouble for trying to return their adopted son have been charged Friday evening.

They were first thought to be on the run when police attempted to serve arrest warrants Thursday and the couple had taken their other children out of school and could not be found.

A grand jury indicted Cleveland and Lisa Cox on one count of nonsupport of dependents, for abandoning their son at the end of last month.

At around 7p.m. Friday evening, Cleveland and Lisa Cox of Liberty Township reported to the Butler County jail.  They were released on a $1,000 dollar bond each but will return to court on the 27th.

If found guilty, the couple faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 dollar fine.
