Tewes Poultry Farm Still Selling Turkeys for Thanksgiving
CRESCENT SPRINGS, Ky. (Adam Clements) -- We are just a day away from thanksgiving and if you don't have your turkey yet, one local business has you covered. The Tewes Poultry Farm in Erlanger still has fresh, free range turkeys for sale. Local 12's Adam Clements has more on how you can get your hands on one, from the family farm.
They are still accepting orders online for turkeys, they recommend you try that first. You can also just walk right in, they still have plenty of turkeys ready for you to buy on site.
All of these turkeys are free range, raised right here on the family farm in crescent springs. They range in size, averaging anywhere from the high teens, all the way up to forty pound birds. In fact, the largest turkey they sold this year was a forty-four pounder.
The great thing about this place is the family element. This farm has been up and running since 1955 and every year business just keeps getting better. It's completely family-owned and operated. Amanda Tewes says, "just based on what customers tell me they'll never go back. If you've had it, the quality, the juice, you can just taste it. There's no hormones, nothing added, you don't know where the other ones are coming from. This, we don't do anything different, they eat and drink, then they're all fat and plump for us."
The Tewes' clean all the turkeys, they're ready for the roaster by the time customers leave. When all is said and done, they'll sell around three-thousand turkeys this year. The Tewes Poultry Farm also offers fresh bacon, chicken and eggs, which all can be bought on site.
