Serious Injury in Crash Leads to Investigation

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Cincinnati Police are investigating a crash that happened around 2p.m. on Friday.

The incident happened on I-75 northbound at mile post 5.3.  48-year-old Annette Baugh lost control of her Ford Taurus station wagon and struck a barrier wall.

Baugh was transported to UC Medical Center; her injuries are non-life threatening and she is listed in stable condition.

33-year-old Justin Beekman was the front seat passenger.  He was trapped and had to be extracted from the vehicle.  Beekman suffered life threatening injuries and is in critical condition at UC Medical Center.

Two back seat passengers were taken to UC Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Speed was not a factor in this crash; however, police say impairment is a factor.

None of the vehicle occupants were wearing a seat belt.

The incident is under investigation.  Witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Cincinnati Police Department Traffic Unit: 352-2514.
