Surveillance video shows thief assaulting Springdale clerk

SPRINGDALE, Ohio (Angela Ingram) --  Clerks are on edge after a robber assaults one of their female co-workers in Springdale, hitting her with a gun. Police released the surveillance video of the hold-up at the Kwik n Kold drive-thru, hoping to get some leads. Angela Ingram has more on how workers are keeping a watchful eye out for signs of trouble

The robbery happened in middle of the day on Sharon Road. Investigators are concerned about the bold and violent robber. He hit a female coworker for no reason. The hold-up was two weeks ago. The thief asked for a cigar and then said he couldn't afford it. The worker then offered to pay for it. Despite her offer, the thief pulled a gun and pushed her to the register. He hit her with the gun and stole money.

Other employees say the robbery is unnerving. They also say they're working out for their co-worker. "She's doing okay, she's a tough lady. She's real tough. She's okay. She wasn't hurt too bad. I'm coming in early to check on her, make sure she's okay. She's cool."

Police say the robber told the clerk to lay on the floor. He told her he'd shoot her if she didn't comply. If you have any information that can help police, call CrimeStoppers at 352-3040. You could get cash for your anonymous tip.
