Streetcar Project Manager Gives Costs to End Project

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- There's been a lot of talk about how much money it will take to shut down the streetcar project, which is already underway.

Thursday, project executive John Deatrick updated city council members, old and new, about the costs. He told them the city has already spent $32.8 million dollars on the projects. Deatrick estimates it will take another $34 million to $42 million to shut it down. Plus, paying back federal funds granted to the city could push the grand total  to up to $124.9 million.

John Cranley was elected as mayor, largely on his promise to stop the controversial project.

Local 12's Joe Webb is at the council meeting. He will have more at 4 and 6.
