Lawmaker Charged in Securities Fraud Case

MASON, Ohio (WKRC) -- A local lawmaker charged with fraud and theft will stand trial in the spring.

The trial for Ohio State Representative Pete Beck of Mason is set to begin April 7th in Hamilton County common pleas court.

The Republican pleaded not guilty in July to 16 felony counts.  Beck is accused of misleading investors about a company's financial status and using their money for personal gain.

Beck denies the allegations and refused to resign from the statehouse.  He will stand trial with former business partner and co-defendant John Fussner.
