Murder of a Father Tears Family Apart
SOUTH CUMMINSVILLE, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- The store that William Aaron King loved is closed.
Keepsakes and stuffed animals are wedged into the security gate in Aaron's honor.
His wife Lisa says, "This was one of his greatest accomplishments. opening up this store meant so much to him."
Aaron was also a family man, the father of four children. His oldest child can't hold back tears when she thinks about her father's death.
Nyeisha Jones says, "It's hard. I lost my father when I just turned 20 years old and now I have to help watch my little sister and my little brother. They're going to grow up without their daddy and it's going to be real hard."
Lisa King had to explain to her youngest kids why their dad would not be home again, not even for Christmas. Last Saturday, just before noon, police say a man Walked into the Wireless Doctor store, trying to rob Aaron.
The man shot and killed the 39-year-old.
Witnesses saw a young girl about four or five years old with the shooter in a jacket that stood out. And the family wants someone to speak up.
Lisa says, "The child that was here with that man, that mother knows that her child had on a pink coat. That mother knows what time the baby daddy, uncle, or whoever it was, she knows what time he left and what time he came back. You can put two and two together. Not only are Our children traumatized, but your child is traumatized as well."
Police say that the shooter was a tall, thin African-American man. He was in his early or mid 30s.
The family is planning a vigil for Aaron. They're hoping to have it on Saturday.
